"Volunteer Days" at Mt. Hymettus Aesthetic Forest: Protecting one of Athens' Green Lungs

The Philodassiki Society of Athens that created and manages the Mt. Hymettus Aesthetic Forest, is pleased to announce its monthly Volunteer Days, a community program dedicated to protecting one of the capital’s most precious natural spaces.

Designed for all community members aged 16 and above, Volunteer Days invite individuals to participate in essential forest maintenance activities such as trail clearing, plant watering, pruning, invasive species removal, and nursery care. Through this hands-on involvement, volunteers contribute directly to the forest's long-term sustainability, ensuring it remains a vital green resource for all.

“Volunteer Days” take place on the first Saturday of each month from 10:00 to 12:30, offering a unique way for residents and visitors alike to engage with and support Athens' natural heritage. Philodassiki supplies all necessary tools and guidance to make each experience both meaningful and productive.

With spots limited to 20 participants per session, early registration is encouraged. For further information or to reserve your place, please visit our dedicated volunteer page here.

Join us in safeguarding the future of Mt. Hymettus Aesthetic Forest for generations to come!
