The New Project OrcHymettus “Orchids, the Hidden Treasure of Mount Hymettus”

We are excited to announce the launch of the new project “Orchids, the Hidden Treasure of Mount Hymettus: Biodiversity Conservation, Public Engagement and Citizen Science in the Aesthetic Forest – OrcHymettus”, implemented by Philodassiki in collaboration with the Department of Biology, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) and the Institute of Mediterranean Forest Ecosystems of the Hellenic Agricultural Organization (ELGO) – DIMITRA.

The project is funded by the Green Fund under the Financial Programme “Natural Environment & Climate Resilience 2025”, Priority Axis 2: “Innovative Actions with Citizens.”

Our aim is to protect, conserve and raise awareness about the wild orchids of Mount Hymettus, while strengthening public engagement in biodiversity conservation.

Stay tuned for updates and announcements about our upcoming outreach and citizen-participation activities.
