Ash Monday at Mt. Hymettus Aesthetic Forest: What You Need to Know!
Ash Monday is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy nature and spend time outdoors! But let’s do so with respect for the environment!
Respect the environment – Don’t leave any trash behind, and don’t cut plants or flowers (so they can bloom again for everyone to enjoy next year). Fire is strictly prohibited!
Protect wildlife – Do not disturb wild animals or feed them (it can be harmful to them). Keep your pets on a leash at all times!
Avoid noise pollution – Nature and other visitors will appreciate it! Loudspeakers and loud music are not allowed (they greatly disturb the forest’s permanent residents – if you stay quiet, you might even spot some beautiful birds nearby!).
Fly your kites responsibly – Do not leave behind kite strings or plastic waste. Choose open and spacious areas, and avoid trees and power lines!
Dress appropriately – Wear comfortable, durable clothing and sturdy shoes. Long pants help protect against scratches and insect bites.
Follow the rules – The use of drones, motorbikes, and bicycle races is prohibited. For more details, click here.
Important: The water from the forest’s springs is not safe to drink!
Even if you're not visiting Mt. Hymettus Aesthetic Forest, wherever you go, respect and protect nature!
