Dress Appropriately: Wear sturdy, comfortable footwear and clothing suitable for the season. Long pants are recommended to prevent scratches and insect bites.
Be Prepared: Carry water, light snacks, a map or GPS device, and a first aid kit. Don’t forget insect repellent.
Respect the Environment: Stay on designated trails. Do not litter. Lighting fires and discarding cigarette butts are strictly prohibited. Do not pick plants or flowers.
Protect Wildlife: Do not disturb or feed animals. Pets must be kept on a leash at all times.
Follow Forest Regulations: Commercial activities, motorcycle and bicycle races are not permitted. Educational, cultural, athletic events, filming, and drone use require prior authorization.
Check Weather Conditions: Plan your visit according to the weather forecast and wildfire risk. Entry is strictly prohibited when the wildfire risk is high (Risk Levels 4 & 5, as per the Fire Risk Prediction Map).
Preserve Cultural Heritage: Respect archaeological and historical sites within the forest.
Protect Infrastructure: Do not damage or remove signs, markers, fences, and water installations.
Maintain Peace and Quiet: Keep noise levels low. Do not play music on speakers or using loud devices to respect other visitors and the forest’s wildlife.
Inform Others of Your Plans: Let someone know your intended route and expected return time.
Do Not Drink Spring Water: Springs located at Kalopoula, Analipsi, and the Kaisariani Monastery are seasonal, with low water flow, and the water is not for drinking.
